Airport Taxis

There are metered taxis outside the arrivals hall. A typical fare into Arrecife is EUR10, while a trip to Costa Teguise is around EUR17 and Playa Blanca is EUR30. You can book taxis ahead of time online to avoid waiting in a queue.

Car Parking

There are two car parks opposite the terminals. Parking is free up to half an hour, then charged at just under EUR0.02 per minute. There is a daily limit of EUR10.60 for the first four days, and EUR8.50 per day after that.

Car Rental

There are several car rental companies at the airport, including Avis, Felycar, Auto Reisen, Cabrera Medina, and Europcar, all located in the arrivals area.

City Transfers

There is a public bus into Arrecife; the trip takes 15 minutes and costs EUR1.

Facilities

Facilities at Lanzarote Airport include ATMs, currency exchange, VIP lounges, photocopying services, police services, a first aid station, and a pharmacy, as well as shops and cafes. The airport also offers free wi-fi access.

Language

Spanish is the official language, but English is widely understood in areas frequented by tourists. Catalan, Galician and Basque are spoken in the relevant areas.

Money

Spain's official currency is the Euro (EUR). One Euro is divided into 100 cents. Money can be exchanged at bureaux de change and major hotels, but banks give the best rates. All major credit cards and travellers cheques are widely accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and shops. ATMs are widespread and are generally the cheapest and most convenient method of obtaining money.

Terminal 1 (international flights) and Terminal 2 (local flights) are within walking distance of each other.

Local time is GMT +1 (GMT +2 between the last Sunday in March and the Saturday before the last Sunday in October). The Canary Islands: GMT (GMT +1 in summer).
