Airport Taxis

There are metered taxis available outside the arrivals area. Fares into town vary according to destination, but are approximately EUR25 to Parque Holandes, EUR45 to Carralejo, and to EUR81 to Jandia Playa.

Car Parking

Parking outside the terminal is free up to 30 minutes, and then charged at roughly EUR0.01 per minute. There is a maximum charge of EUR8.15 per day for the first four days, and EUR6.50 per day after that.

Car Rental

There are several car hire companies at Fuerteventura, including Hertz, Avis, Payless, Cicar, and Top Car Auto Reisen.

City Transfers

There are two public buses running between Fuerteventura Airport and downtown. Bus No. 3 leaves twice and hour on weekdays (slightly less frequently on weekends) and costs EUR1.80, while Bus No. 10 departs eight times a day on weekdays, six times on Saturdays, and four times on Sundays. Both buses stop in front of the terminal building.

Facilities

Airport facilities include ATMs, baggage trolleys, photocopying, children's play areas, a tourist information booth, pharmacy, and first aid station, as well as a number of shops and cafes. There is also wi-fi access in the terminal.

Language

Spanish is the official language, but English is widely understood in areas frequented by tourists. Catalan, Galician and Basque are spoken in the relevant areas.

Money

Spain's official currency is the Euro (EUR). One Euro is divided into 100 cents. Money can be exchanged at bureaux de change and major hotels, but banks give the best rates. All major credit cards and travellers cheques are widely accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and shops. ATMs are widespread and are generally the cheapest and most convenient method of obtaining money.

Local time is GMT +1 (GMT +2 between the last Sunday in March and the Saturday before the last Sunday in October). The Canary Islands: GMT (GMT +1 in summer).
