The Riu Palmeras Hotel is located in Playa del Ingles, this comfortable hotel, very near the beach and the Paseo Maritimo (Avenue on the sea front), is the perfect spot to enjoy the many facilities nested in a 10,000 sq.m garden. Playa del Ingles is famous for its magnificent dunes, its clear waters and its wide choice of fun and pleasure. The hotel is 30 km from Gran Canaria airport. Airport to hotel transfers can be booked at Transfers4u.com. Just 350 m from the sea-front promenade and the beach and 250 m from the city centre. You can find a shopping centre 200 m away. To get to know the island better under your own steam, cars, scooters and bicycles can be hired. There are also regular bus services that connect San Agustin, Las Palmas, Puerto Rico and Puerto de Mogan. There is a bus stop 100 m from the hotel. FACILITIES:The Riu Palmeras hotels swimming pool is heated in winter and has a childrens section. Lounge chairs, cabins, towels and sun umbrellas are offered gratis by the pool and there is a terrace-solarium you can freely use. The beach with its dunes of fine sand, which is 6 km long and between 30 to 100 m wide can be easily reached down a flights of steps. Other facilities include a conference room, a game room with TV/video, a childrens playground, hairdresser and boutique/kiosk. At an additional charge massage service and internet access are available to guests. Guests on half board may enjoy breakfast and dinner service at the main restaurant which has a non-smoking section and a terrace. Breakfast is comprised of a varied buffet with wholemeal products and on the spot cooking stations. For lunch, you can have the benefit of a light fare at the pool snack bar. At dinnertime a cold and warm starters buffet is set and there are also dishes prepared “on the spot.” The main course is served at the table, followed by a diverse dessert buffet. Vegetarian dish is available. Twice a week the staff organises special evenings. The lounge bar offers a multitude of drinks and refreshments and an open terrace.
