29 December

Depart Dublin for Rome.  Arrive in Rome Fiumicino and meet with your English speaking Italian tour guide.  Transfer to the 4* Hotel Victoria Roma for check-in. 

30 December

After breakfast travel to the Vatican City and visit the majestic San Peter Square with its Basilica. Your tour also includes a visit of the Vatican Museums. These museums house one of the largest art collections in the world. The Sistine Chapel is dedicated to Maria Assunta in Cielo. It is one of the most famous cultural and artistic treasures of Vatican City.


31 December

Free day to celebrate New Year’s Eve.  New Year’s in Rome is the time of grand celebration with luxury restaurants to visit, dazzling fireworks, free concerts and delicious food. All the beautiful churches and the old piazzas are decorated with gorgeous decorations. The city celebrates its biggest party at Piazza del Popolo with fireworks and some of the great performances of the most popular Italian pop bands.  Monument of Vittorio Emanuele II, Piazza Navona and the Colosseum are the most popular places where people gather in order to watch the countdown of the last few minutes of the year.

A free concert also takes place at the Via dei Fori Imperiali every year. Another very popular place is Villa Borghese where people celebrate the evening in a traditional way with the classical music, fireworks show and some traditional Italian meal.


1 January

Guided tour in the afternoon, where our guide will lead you to discover the Colosseum. Walk the Via dei Fori Imperiali from Piazza Venezia with a stop at the majestic Altare della Patria.


2 January

After breakfast transfer to the Pincio panoramic terrace. We will have a walking tour to Piazza del Popolo where we can admire two identical churches standing beside each other. The Santa Maria dei Mircoli and the Santa Maria in Montesanto are known as the Twin Churches because of their almost identical exterior structure. 

The church Santa Maria del Popolo that overlooks this square preserves some incredible masterpieces: the Nativity by Pinturicchio, the statues of Daniel and the Lion and Habakkuk and the Angel of Bernini, the Crucifixion of St. Peter and the Conversion of St Paul both by Caravaggio.


3 January

Afer breakfast at the hotel transfer to Rome Ciampino airport for you flight back to Dublin.
