Our trip will showcase the very best of New Zealand, with the 3 test matches providing an exciting backdrop. Check in for your international flight in Dublin Airport as we set off for a trip of a lifetime to New Zealand.

 

Wednesday, 29 June

We are enroute to New Zealand.

 

Thursday, 30 June

Touch down in Auckland and welcome to New Zealand. Transfer by private coach to our hotel for the next 4 nights, Rydges Auckland. The rest of the evening is at leisure.

 

Friday, 1 July

After a well-earned sleep-in, we will embark on a city tour of Auckland in the early afternoon, where we will take in all of the main sights including The Auckland Skytower and Auckland Museum. The evening is at leisure.

 

Saturday, 2 July

After breakfast in the hotel, we discover what it takes to be an All Black as we explore the award winning, interactive All Blacks Experience exhibition. The afternoon is at leisure. Pre-match dinner and drinks are included close to Eden Park Stadium. Afterwards, we transfer to Eden Park for the first test match. Cheer on Ireland as they take on New Zealand in what could easily be a trial run of our Rugby World Cup 2023 Quarter Final !

 

Sunday, 3 July

A full day at leisure to relax and enjoy this beautiful city at your own pace.

 

Monday, 4 July

We say au revoir to Auckland as we set off to Rotorua via Waitomo Caves. The Waitomo Caves are a labyrinthine network of caves, waterfalls and many other fascinating underground featrues. Put on your hard hats as we set off for an exploration of this unique geographical system.  Afterwards we travel onwards to Rotorua. Once we check-in to our hotel, The Novotel Rotorua, the rest of the day is at leisure.

 

Tuesday, 5 July

After breakfast, we embark on a sightseeing tour of Rotorua, which includes a guided tour of the Te Puia Thermal Reserve. In the evening, we will be collected by a Maori guide and transferred to a recreated Maori Village, where we will enjoy a Maori cultural performance at Tamaki Village followed by a traditional Hangi dinner.

 

Wednesday, 6 July

After breakfast, we depart Rotorua and set off for Napier. Enroute to Napier, we will take in some breath-taking scenery and landscapes including Lake Taupo and Huka Falls. Dinner in your hotel, Scenic Hotel Te Pania Napier, is included tonight

 

Thursday, 7 July

After breakfast, a full day at leisure to relax and enjoy Napier and the surrounding countryside. 

 

Friday, 8 July

After breakfast in our hotel in Napier, we set off for Wellington, taking in the sights along the way. Once we arrive in Wellington, we discover the highlights of the city, including Courtney Place and the Embassy Theatre, Oriental Parade, Mt Victoria, The War Memorial, Parliament and Wellington Cable Car.

 

Saturday, 9 July

After breakfast, the rest of the day is at leisure to relax and stroll around this beautiful city. Feel the excitement and atmosphere building as match time approaches. Pre-match dinner and drinks are included close to Wellington Stadium. Afterwards, we transfer to Wellington Stadium for the second and perhaps decisive test match.

 

Sunday, 10 July

After breakfast, we head for the airport and our flight to the South Island. On arrival in Christchurch, we embark on a city tour. After we check-in to our hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure. Enjoy the city at your own pace. Why not take in a leisurely boat cruise on the Avon River or one of the other many sights that are on offer in Christchurch

 

Monday, 11 July

After breakfast, we transfer to Christchurch Railway Station for our journey on board the TranzAlpine. The TranzAlpine is described as "The Great New Zealand Rail Adventure" and is rated as one of the top scenic train journeys in the world. After crossing the huge and fertile patchwork farmlands of the Canterbury Plains, the TranzAlpine winds its way over massive viaducts, through spectacular river gorges and the stunning Waimakariri River valley. It tracks its way up and across the spectacular Southern Alps via the alpine village of Arthur’s Pass situated 737 metres above sea level, before descending through lush beech forests past the beautiful Lake Brunner to the West Coast town of Greymouth, on the Tasman Sea. On arrival in Greymouth, we will disembark the train and travel south along the scenic West Coast. This rugged length of "The Coast" has always been a challenging environment. However, its natural beauty has proved irresistible to many a visitor. Continue through the former gold mining townships of Ross and Harihari. It is a short journey from here to the spectacular mountainous country of the glacier region of Franz Josef and Fox Glacier. Our hotel for the next 2 nights in The Scenic Hotel Franz Josef Glacier. 

 

Tuesday, 12 July

After breakfast, enjoy a day at leisure to relax and explore this area at your own pace.  There are plenty of local excursions available for the adrenaline junkie !

 

Wednesday, 13 July

After breakfast, we set off for Queenstown. The scenic journey to Queenstown. Includes Haast, Lake Hawea, Wanaka and Arrowtown.  On arrival in Queenstown, we will check into our hotel for the next 2 nights, The Millennium Queenstown. 

 

Thursday, 14 July

A full day at leisure to enjoy this beautiful city.

 

Friday, 15 July

Say goodbye to the South Island, as we set off to Queenstown Airport and our flight back to Auckland for the third test. On arrival in Auckland, we check-in to our hote for the next 2 nights, The Rydges Auckland. 

 

Saturday, 16 July

After breakfast in the hotel, the day is at leisure. Feel the tension and excitement building as we look forward to the third and final test. Pre-match dinner and drinks are included close to Eden Park Stadium. Afterwards, we transfer to Eden Park for the final test match.

 

Sunday, 17 July

Say goodbye to New Zealand as we head to the airport and our flight back to Ireland

 

Monday, 18 July

Arrive back home in Ireland
