Several major car rental companies are represented at the airport, including Avis, Budget and Thrifty.

Taxis are available. Most visitors opt for the limousine taxi service, fares for which can be negotiated with the driver. There is a bus service connecting to the city but this tends to be crowded and unpleasant and is usually avoided by visitors. Construction will begin soon on a new high-speed rail link to connect the airport to the city.

Although it has been extended and renovated several times, Jeddah's airport remains crowded and chaotic. There are four terminals, with the North Terminal being used exclusively for international flights. There are money exchange facilities, a restaurant and shops in this terminal. The vast Hajj terminals contain prayer and rest areas, markets, cooking facilities for pilgrims, a clinic, bank, and a mosque.

Arabic is the official language in Saudi Arabia, but English is widely understood.

The Saudi currency is the Riyal (SAR), divided into 100 halala. Foreign currency can be changed at banks and exchange bureaux. Banking hours are generally Saturday to Wednesday from 8am to 12pm and 4pm to 8pm. All major credit cards are accepted at shops, hotels and restaurants in Saudi Arabia. Travellers cheques are also accepted and ATMs are widely available. There are no taxes in Saudi Arabia, so shopping is good value.

There is no transport provided. Passengers are required to pay for a taxi.
