Fargo

Since most people know Fargo from the 1996 Coen Brother's film, visitors to the city are often surprised to discover that there is much more to Fargo than funny accents and snow. Home to several universities, a minor league baseball team, several theatres, art galleries and museums, a zoo and horse racing track, there is plenty to see and do in Fargo.

A bustling city in its own right, Fargo is on the border of North Dakota and Minnesota, and shares a metro area with the city of Moorhead, across the border. With ten universities and colleges between the two cities, the population of Fargo-Moorhead is always young and energetic, and ensures a bustling nightlife.

Fargo is best visited in summer, as the winters are notoriously harsh and inhospitable. It's not for nothing that buildings are designed so that people need to go outdoors as little as possible!

Fargo is a popular stop on road trips across the northern US, and acts as a gateway to the outdoor pleasures and pursuits of North Dakota, including hiking, canoeing, fishing, golfing, horseback riding, biking and camping in summer, and snowmobiling, skiing, and ice fishing in winter. A holiday in Fargo combines the best of both city and country life, and makes an ideal destination for those who can't decide.
